Notion AI is an assistant built into Notion, the notes-and-documents app many teams already use to store their files and projects. It writes and edits text for you, summarizes long notes, transcribes meetings into to-do lists, answers questions about the documents you keep in Notion, and can build or update pages for you. The main appeal is that it lives right inside the workspace where your notes and records already sit, so you don't have to copy and paste into a separate chatbot.

The important catch is that the AI only "sees" the material you keep in Notion (plus a few connected apps like Slack and Google Drive). If your business doesn't already run on Notion, most of what makes it useful won't apply to you. As of May 2025, Notion also removed the old $10 AI add-on, so getting the real, unlimited AI now means paying for the Business plan at $20 per person per month.

Think of it as an office-organization and writing helper for teams whose paperwork already lives in Notion. It is not a marketing engine, a customer-support system, or a data-analysis package, and for polished external writing like proposals or blog posts, dedicated tools like ChatGPT or Claude tend to do better.
